A word about PRA RESULTS: PRA stands for Progressive Retinal Atrophy, something that has shown itself to be a problem within our breed. Responsible breeders will attempt to test for it, in one form or another. This particular test I do is a genetic test that has just become available, and I'm very thankful for it. Not long ago it was difficult and expensive for many breeders to find a Canine Ophthalmologist to test the eyes. As to results.... *PRA NORMAL or clear means the dog does not carry any genes needed to pass on one common form of  PRA (Cord 1 ). *PRA Carrier means there is a possibility that the dog can pass the gene. ( but the puppies would not ever develop the disease, only be carriers of the gene which could ONLY be activated if that dog was bred to an AFFECTED, then THOSE pups would be affected)
