PURCHASE CONTRACT OF SMALL TOWN DACHS
We are happy that your next family member is coming from Small Town, and
welcome you to our Small Town family. If you reserved your puppy in advance of 8 weeks and it is to be shipped, you are receiving two copies of our contract for your review. It is very important for you to do this, and understand what is expected from breeder and buyer alike.
In the case of a puppy that is shipped, please read and complete your portion of the contract that says “FOR BREEDER” and send it back. You will retain the copy that says “FOR BUYER”, and receive a separate shot record with your pup when it is shipped.
Your Puppy is guaranteed to be in good health at the time of purchase and upon leaving us.
We pride ourselves on breeding happy, healthy pups registered with AKC (American Kennel Club) or UABR (United All Breed Registry).
The following accepted vaccinations and wormings were given on the dates listed, we use Progard 5 (Canine Distemper, Adenovirus Type 2, Para influenza & modified live Parvovirus vaccine) we worm with Nemex 2 and Safeguard.
Vaccinations are typically given at 6,8,10 wks. Rabies is then due at 16 weeks. Small Town does not give vaccines with Lepto in them, as this breed occasionally has life threatening reactions to this component. If Leptospirosis is common in your area, please discuss the risks/benefits of this vaccine with your vet. Ask your vet about the Kennel Cough protection as well, if your dog is to be exposed to others, as in the case of boarding or doggy daycare.
All Small Town puppies will have their well vet check before going to their new homes.
Puppies are sold on two levels. One, as breedable or as show potential. The price on these puppies is typically slightly higher than then puppies sold as pets or limited. We DO NOT guarantee our puppies to be show quality, only show potential. Structure or color can and will change over time, perhaps making these promising youngsters unsuitable for the ring.
Limited, pet or reduced puppies absolutely cannot be used for breeding, as these puppies have ring (color, structure) faults or other hidden faults that in no way affect the ability of these animals to lead normal, productive lives as pets.

IMPORTANT: If a pup is dappled at birth, but does not appear as an adult to be dappled, it is still dapple. If it is purchased as breedable, and is bred to a dapple, the resulting puppies could well be double dapple and suffer serious health problems. We do not recommend that you do this. If Small Town learns that a dog of our breeding has purposely been used to produce double dapples, we will remove said dog from your possession with no monies refunded.

I,___________________________________(purchaser name) acknowledge that I
have 3 days (72 hours) from the date of purchase and pickup to get the puppy vet checked in order to make this 2 year guarantee valid. If the puppy is not vet checked within this time period, sale is FINAL. NO CASH REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN, EVER.
If your veterinarian finds that the puppy is not acceptable on his/her initial visit, a letter must be provided by the Veterinarian and validated by this breeder’s veterinarian, at that time puppy will be exchanged for a puppy of equal value as soon as one becomes available or a refund will be honored for the purchase price (less any fees, such as Pay Pal & the non-refundable deposit) The puppy must be returned to breeder at buyers expense with 48 hours of examination or the sale is FINAL. In the case of shipping, puppy must be returned to breeder within one week.
ALSO- if a pup is purchased show potential/breedable, and a genetic issue is found WITHIN 2 years (not caused by diet or environment), monies will be refunded down to pet price if the animal has not been bred and a vet proof of alteration is provided to the breeder. If the animal has been bred, this offer is void.

PLEASE, it is vital that you don’t bring your puppy into contact with other dogs, or
feces/urine during this time, at least not until your dog has his or her final shots.
Remember, a puppy’s immune system is not a finished product at this stage of life. Many things can be transferred dog to dog, or even by sniffing feces/urine. Parvovirus, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Bordetella (Kennel Cough) to name a few.

Small Town Dachs assumes no financial responsibility for vet bills or any other
incurred fees once puppy leaves breeder’s premises.
Small Town provides a 2 year health guarantee for life threatening genetic disorders
that would affect the dogs ability to function as a pet. In the case that a defect should appear, upon verification by a qualified veterinarian, I shall refund purchase price, less non-refundable deposit, or replace the dog with one of equal or greater value, whichever the purchaser prefers. The puppy must be returned, at buyer’s expense, along with registration papers. In NO case shall a dog be destroyed without notifying Small Town first.!
All puppies on full registration must have our kennel name, SMALL TOWN, in their registered names. If they do not, all monies refunded for titles, degrees etc. will be forfeited.
We are a kennel breeding for the betterment of the breed. We put just as much work and effort into producing your lifetime companion as we do into our show dogs. For that reason, we would like to be given due credit for producing our exceptional Dachshunds.
TITLE/DEGREE REFUNDS (cannot exceed purchase price)
CDX= $25 refund
Agility = $25 per level
Major or BOB win = $50 (cap of $50 for all)
Championship = half of your purchase price (calculated taking all previous refunds into consideration)
WHAT WE DO NOT COVER:
We do not guarantee against conditions that may be triggered by stress related to a
new home or by the shipping process. Certain medical conditions that can be
triggered by stress are Coccidiosis or hypoglycemia. We do not guarantee, and will not pay veterinary expenses for accidents or traumas sustained after purchase.
If at any time in the dog’s life, the purchaser decides to transfer ownership of the
dog, they must notify Small Town Dachs and give us first right of refusal.

The purchaser agrees that no dog is to be given or sold to any person or establishment dealing in wholesaling, retailing or breeding of animals. If you sell or surrender your Small Town dog without notifying us that you are doing so, you make yourself subject to a severe fine of $3000 in damages to the reputation of Small Town and immediate ownership of the animal in question will be forfeited back to Small Town with no compensation to the owner.
We heartily encourage Spay/Neuter for any animal not to be shown or used for breeding. If a pet quality animal is found to be used for breeding, any puppies resulting from such an action will be fined $500 per offspring. If the buyer of any full price Small Town pup provides proof of spay or neuter before the pup is six months of age, Small Town will refund the cost of alteration up to $50.*
*Refund valid on full price pups only priced $500 or more.

If, at any time in the pup’s life, you find you cannot keep said pup, you agree to notify Small Town Dachs. We will attempt to re-home the dog, or after all avenues have been explored, will take the dog back, but no monies will be refunded. We will re-home the dog as a pet or retain the dog, at our discretion. You agree to never sell one of our dogs to “Puppy Mill” or other large breeders (especially those with multiple {more than 2} breeds), pet shops or other brokers.
If, by 8 weeks of age, a reserved or partially paid for pup is not picked up, all monies
paid on pup will be forfeited, unless other arrangements have been made in advance. If previous arrangements have not been made, puppy will be back up for sale two days after the pickup date. Final payments will be accepted in the form of cash only.
Any and all court proceedings (if deemed necessary) must take place within the jurisdiction of Saginaw County, Michigan. There are no refunds given on puppies for any reason other than medical (example, if the dog was purchased full for breeding, and your and my vet deems it unsuitable for such due to medical or genetic reasons)
