DOG FOOD AND SUPPLEMENTS ~ THE RIGHT DIET CAN MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE

Nature Care, and Small Town Dachs Longhair Dachshund

Buying your puppy from a breeder who takes pride in producing well bred, genetically sound puppies from tested, purebred stock is the best way of insuring yourself that you and your new companion will spend many happy years together. However, in order to make those years healthy and productive, an appropriate diet must be fed. Not one diet is 100% perfectly complete for every dog. Dogs are individuals. Like people, some need more protein to feel and act their best. Some need more carbohydrate than others. Some are best on grain free diets, some need grain in order to have firm healthy stool and maintain weight. Through trial and error, you will learn the best diet for your individual dog.

The rule of thumb when looking for a good food, is not price, because the best is not always the most expensive ( the exception to this is your best choice is NEVER the cheapest food you can find). The things to look for are no byproducts (this is not only parts, but can legally include nasty and diseased parts), little or NO colorings (it causes Cancer and Tumors in us, same goes for the animals), try to stay away from lots of grains (corn, corn middlings, rice hulls) these are just fillers, and sometimes can be not good for your pet in too great a quantity. The generic fats are questionable, animal fat is not as good as fat from one source, say chicken or fish. Don't be sucked in to that nonsense about the "Rating System". Perfectly good foods can get low ratings because they have generic fats. There are much greater sins, like the first three ingredients are grains, or variations of a grain. ( i.e. Rice, Rice Hulls, Rice Flour )

My personal feeding regime at my kennel consists of Royal Canin Dachshund formula, and supplementing with COMPANION For Life canine supplement with Immune 26. That is my perfect mix, for your dog it may be different. Your dog may prefer one of the grain free foods, consisting of 100% protein. To the diet fed at Small Town, I add a dinner of RAW meat at least once a week. With this food, I'm able to maintain an entire kennel of dogs in peak health, with very few illnesses, and beautiful healthy teeth and coats. I've seen allergies disappear and skin heal in mere days. I visit the vet far less frequently that I used to. If I do happen to have an illness or injury with one of the dogs, I simply up the Immune 26 I give (I've even given the powder concentrate to heal injuries within days). Granted, it is more expensive to feed this way up front, but by doing this, I've saved literally hundreds if not thousands of dollars per year in vet visits and treatment. So when it comes to feeding your best friend, whether dog or cat, I beg you, do not skimp and buy grocery store food, supposing that will be good enough. Good Enough could lead to hundreds of dollars in vet bills for illnesses that could have been avoided.

CANINE HEALTH FROM THE INSIDE OUT

PART 1

I'm pretty holistic in my approach to care of my dogs. If the dog's God given immune system can heal it without artificial stimulation from medicines that can actually suppress the body's natural healing ability, then that's how I will go. I use whole foods, things like 35% food Grade peroxide(water with 1 extra water molecule), Colloidal Silver (water infused with Silver), and Immune 26 (balances immune system, so the body heals itself). I got an email from a lady today, bless her heart, she saved a little Doxie girl from a horrible fate. Now she is dealing with the results of the neglect this little girl suffered early in life. Worms, suppressed immune system, etc. She will try the peroxide, and I await the results of that.

I want to talk a little about a product I've had great success with. It's not something mainstream, and you will never find it in stores. It's a product sold by MLM. (Before you poo-poo that, MLM is not bad, it's a distribution model. Some MLMers however, are quite bad. Don't confuse a whole industry with those horrible, pushy people. For the most part, we are quite professional.) Back to the point, Companion for Life. Companion has the usual gamut of vitamins, minerals and the addition of chrondoitin. It does have one unique ingredient. It's called Immune 26. It balances the immune system, so the body itself can do the work of healing and putting right what is wrong. I can tell you it has almost 200 patents and clinical trails up the wazoo proving it does what it says. Heck, Google it. But you don't want to hear that, you don't want to waste a bunch of time reading, what you want to know, is does it work? I can say unequivocally, it does. I've been involved with dogs a very long time, and this product actually does what it claims. Amazing, because it really seems so many don't.

With the use of Companion, I personally have seen coat improvement, softening and lengthening. I've seen allergies disappear. I shared this with people who have gotten dogs off of kidney medicine, gotten rid of flea dermatitis and seen hair regrow. I had a dog come here from a boarding kennel with staph infection of the skin. With the Immune 26 powder, I saw that clear up within weeks. I use it with pregnant females, I'm not sure if the Immune is responsible, but everyone always has a good milk supply. (there have been studies done in dairy cattle where milk production has increased). So, basically, if you have issues with stiffness, bad coat, slow healing, general bad health....use Companion with Chrondoitin/Glucosamine. It you have MAJOR skin issues, cancers, surgery or mastitis, use Immune 26 powder. I would personally use the Immune powder in conjunction with peroxide in the water or the Silver given orally. You'll be glad you tried it.
