About SmallTown

My name is Jennifer Thon and I am the owner of SmallTown Dachs. Our kennel is a work in progress, but just the same welcome and come on in!

We believe that animals are our stress relievers and do indeed make our days a little bit brighter. I can't imagine how drab life would be without them, and children growing up with animals is absolutely delightful. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, I agree.

When I was a little girl growing up, I had always wanted to be a veterinarian. While my life took me down a different path, I still knew that I wanted to work with animals. After spending some time thinking about what I wanted to do with my life, I finally realized what that was. I wanted to open up my own successful kennel business, and am now working toward that goal. Although I've been involved with animals for a very long time, I never felt I had the correct facilities to care and breed a number of animals.

So about two years ago, my husband and I purchased a home with the acreage to do what I had always wanted. Its is extremely exciting to know that your dreams are becoming a reality. You always hear that until you love what you do, you will never be happy. I now understand that and am very happy to know that I am going to be doing what I love to do, and that is working with animals.

With the experience and knowledge that I have working with animals, owning my own grooming shop, and the BS in Psychology with studies in Animal Behaviorism, I know that this store and my small breeding operation will be a great hit! While everyday is still a learning experience for me, knowing that I am doing everything that I can to make my dreams come true is very rewarding. Combine that with being able to be at home with my two wonderful children, it makes it all worth while.

Here at SmallTown Dachs, we believe in healthy living. Everyday people are trying "new and improved" things to make their lives healthier, shouldn't we be doing the same for our pets? Believing in healthy living has made me realize that when we take care of our bodies, our bodies will take care of us. We go that same extra mile here at this kennel and our home, to make everything as healthy as it can get. We don’t have to worry about contamination or recalls, simply because we feed our animals a grade of food fit for even ourselves. Knowing that we are extending the lives of ourselves and our animals, makes living so much better all around.

Now that I have started this business, my life has been so much better. I feel great satisfaction in the knowledge that has come with helping others realize that even the smallest amount of wrong can make anything turn into a catastrophe when it comes to animals. Lets give our animals something to "bark" or "meow" about, and give them the only healthy choice they deserve!

Thank-You for taking the time to learn about myself and SmallTown Dachs. We hope that you enjoy browsing around this site, and seeing our great little dogs.

If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions please feel free to e-mail me any time, at smalltowndachs@yahoo.com and I will be glad to get back to you. Or if you would rather write to us, you can send the letter to the address listed below.
