SMALLTOWN DACHSHUND - a Michigan based Dachshund breeder ...PUPPIES ARE HERE!
SELECT ADULTS FOR SALE
In order to further my breeding program, I have decided to reduce my numbers, not because these are not outstanding dogs. Once these dogs have produced a puppy for me that I can take and show, I feel that I can place my dogs in similar breeding programs (or pet homes too) where they can be of even further benefit to someone else. It's a "Pay It Forward" thing.

Welcome to Smalltown
We are not as much a kennel as we are a house overtaken by weenie dogs.
Smalltown Dachshund is a Michigan Dachshund breeder located just west of Saginaw, in Michigan. We breed for Miniature Longhair Dachshund only.
My name is Jen Thon, along with my husband Gary, I've been fortunate to be able to obtain a few very good dogs for the foundation of our kennel. Establishing a relationship with some excellent breeders here in our home state of MI has made it possible to build a strong basis for our kennel. I do not make my living from my dogs, my primary income is made in the Health & Wellness industry, therefore, our prices may be lower than others with the same quality lines, but this does not mean your Smalltown puppy will be of lower quality! Our dogs are kept and loved here on our farm, this is where your puppy will spend his young life. I invite you to view the dogs in their home surroundings. It is very important to view where a pup is raised and how it is kept. Most of our puppies only require a $200 non-refundable deposit to hold for you unless noted.
BUYER BEWARE! There are many sites out there, some even local to me, that pass themselves off as caring breeders, when in fact they are brokers. It is very important that you are able to view the home surroundings. If a dog is not socialized properly, or lives it's life in a cage & never outside, personality problems can arise.
It's an unfortunate fact that you get what you pay for~ If you want a cheap dog, I can't supply it. However if you want a good dog that has a 5 year health guarantee and a good reputation backing that up, I have that. I put too much time, care and funds into my dogs to give them away.
We keep all of our dogs very healthy and happy using natural holistic methods. We feel traditional medicines are over prescribed, and not necessary if you use natural products and a good dose of common sense. I very rarely take my dogs to the vet for other than mandatory Rabies vaccine, many viruses, allergies, bacterial infections can be virtually eliminated through the use of natural products....feel free to email me for more details. Reading my blog may give some information.
We breed our dogs for the purpose of producing show puppies that can be campaigned for our kennel, however, every dog no matter the bloodline, will produce not just show but pet puppies. We like to think that we produce Quality Pets, not Pet Quality. We breed for excellence in conformation and temperament so although your puppy may be purchased as a pet, she/he will still be a wonderful addition to your family for years to come.
Your Smalltown Dachshund will come registered with AKC (American Kennel Club) unless you choose to get the reduced pet price, then papers, will be supplied AFTER I receive proof of neuter/spay.. Puppies will be up to date on shots and wormings, and well socialized taking into consideration the developing needs of a puppy. Exposure to the right stimulus at the right time can make a world of difference in your puppy's temperament.
All of our moms spend their pregnancies inside, and the puppies get a lot of love and care from the moment they are born. From day one our little ones are exposed to certain stimuli that is proven to produce dogs more capable of handling stress and produces an overall calmer temperament. Problem solving ability is also a significant result of appropriate stimulation.
The puppies come to your home well socialized with cats, other dogs, children, and all the noises that come with living on a farm. They will be well started on the potty training process. Or in the case of an older dog/pup, they will be fully trained.
